Kerala is a state of India. The capital Thiruvananthapuram is located on a hill. Kochi is an important port and oil refinery. Calicut is another port city. Malayalam is the state language of Kerala. In September 2018, the people of Kerala were devastated by severe floods for a month. Millions of people were displaced by the floods.
